Tustin Chili Cook Off

We went to the Tustin Chili Cook off last weekend. It was kind of like the Orange Street Fair in a way but really did not even compare. They had good bands that played but that was about it. We had fun though.. and Jacob liked "shaking his booty!"

My little muffins.

I love my boys...

The things I'll do for sleep

So, Jacob has been waking up multiple times a night for I don't even know how long.. but a long time. Whether he needs me to "get him cozy" or he has to go potty or just plain old, "I'm not tired" it's always something. So, the other night when saying goodnight, I told him that if he slept all night long like a big boy, he could have ice cream after breakfast. Well, well, what do you know, that kid slept all night long and the first thing he reminded me of in the morn was ice cream after breakfast. Sigh... the things I'll do for sleep. :)

This is the Rooftop Lounge above K'Ya... fun people watching and amazing views..We got to sleep in the next morning (so nice!) followed by mimosas on our patio. Thank you my love for a perfect weekend and for the best 6 years of my life!

Jacob is 3 today!

My little boy is 3 today! We started our morning out with Paul, James and I going into Jacob's room singing "Happy Birthday to you..." He immediately started crying and told us that we scared him. So sensitive that one! Once he calmed down we proceeded downstairs to open up presents. He opened a tractor from James and then opened his present from us which was a small water tank with 2 mini African Frogs in it. He totally loved them! We told Jacob he should name them and he pondered for a little bit and then said "Pants." We said, "Okay, should the big one or the little one be named Pants?" He said, "The big one." So, then we asked what the little one should be named. He said "Little Pants" Paul said, "Little Pants, so do you mean shorts?" Jacob said, "Yes, Shorts." So, we now have our two little frogs, Pants and Shorts. LOL!
Next, we had Pancakes for breakfast (I'd been asking Jacob for weeks what he wanted for his bday and every time he said pankcakes). So, today I made them special by adding sprinkles to them and of course, 3 candles on top! What a fun morning. Tonight, we're going to take Jacob to see a movie. Fun fun. I can't believe my little baby is 3!
Jacob's been making us laugh so much these days. He's so silly and is always trying to get a laugh. Here are a few things that he's said lately...

* When he goes to the bathroom, he tells us, "Don't play with my trains while I'm going potty."

*I've been telling Jacob for the last couple of weeeks not to touch the potty because of germs. The other day, I told him again to not touch and he said "why, because of worms?" :)

* Every time Jacob "toots" he says, "excuse me" And not quietly or discretely but super loud and multiple times. It doesn't matter where we are. The other day he shouted across the whole pool at swimming lessons, "Excuse Me!" So embarassing!

(How bad is it that the first 3 things all have to do with the bathroom or going potty)?
*Jacob loves the shower so much that lately every time he takes one, he takes it until the hot water runs out.

*I always call Jacob "Sweetie boy" so he now calls me "Mommy boy"

*He also thinks it's so funny when he gives James a ride on his shoulders!
Happy birthday to my silly and adorable little Jacob!

BVI's

Here's us on our latest adventure to the BVI's. We chartered a boat with our friends, Kirsten, Ryan, Natalie, Ryan, Sandra and Taylor. Below are just a few of my favorite pictures. It was so beautiful it was hard to choose just one or two. It was a trip we will remember forever! This was the view from the top of Marina Cay. This was our view at Jost Van Dyke.

This was our favorite beach on Prickly Pear Island.
We hike to the "bubbly pool" on Jost Van Dyke. Us in front of a cute beach bar and restaurant called the "Happy Arrrr Bar" on Marina Cay.And, finally a beautiful sunset on Norman Island. Ahhhhh... I want to go back. So relaxing, so beautiful and sooooo much fun!

James is 6 months old

James is 6 months old today... I can't believe it. We had his 6 month check up today and James weighed in at 16 lbs (between the 25-50%) and was 27 inches long (75%.. whhhhhaaaaat?) LOL! I looked back on Jacob's stats at 6 months to compare and he weighed 13 lbs 12 oz (25%) and was 25 inches long (50%). Looks like James is going to be the "big" little brother :)
James is such a little sweetheart. He's so mild tempered and all you have to do is make eye contact with him for him to give you a huge smile. When James is tired, he'll just melt into you and lay his head on your shoulder. James absolutely loves Jacob. Jacob can make him belly laugh so hard. Jacob just does something silly which makes himself laugh which in turn makes James laugh. It's so contagious because then I laugh and Jacob thinks what he did was even funnier and again James laughs. It's the best sound in the whole wide world. And I know it will only get better watching the two of them grow up together.

Fire Station

Jacob and James has their first visit to a fire station last weekend. Bryan Bingham was working at the station right by our house so he kindly invited us and the boys over. Bryan first showed us the trucks. Here's Jacob sitting in the driver's seat...
Then, Bryan took all of us on a little ride around the block. Jacob was quietly taking it all in. Then he showed us around the station. Jacob thought everything was "cool" What a fun morning! Thank you Bryan!

Auntie

Such a good multitasking Auntie to her "Booty" and "Squishy Do" as she's nicknamed them!

Silly Boys!

Jacob making James laugh... :)

Cousins

Ady and Jen came over to play today. Jacob kept saying, "Two babies!" and spent most of his time showing off for Jen and trying to make Ady laugh. We had a fun morning. Adyson is 2 1/2 month, James is 5 months and Jacob will be 3 in March. So much fun!!

Potty Trained

I'm happy to say that Jacob is potty trained!! YAY! He hasn't had an accident in days, tells me when he has to go and even tries to go on the "big potty" when we're out. I'm so excited. It was definitely worth the time and effort. Good job Jacob!!

Potty Training Day #2

Day #2 started with enthusiam. Beginning at 8:00 we pretty much parked it in the bathroom. Even James joined in the fun....
It was almost 10:00 and no accidents but also no successes. It had to be coming soon. Jacob did take Pooh Bear to the potty several times, making sure he took off his underwear (which sometimes Jacob would call them boardshorts :), put it in the potty, flushed, and then washed his hands...
Around 10:30, we had a huge accomplishment. Jacob peed and pooped in the potty! YAY! I never thought I'd be so excited about poop in my life. LOL! Jacob was so so happy! It was such a proud moment for me as a mommy.

By naptime, Jacob successfully went in the potty 4 times with no accidents!! It was a very happy morning for us!

Potty Training Day 1

So, today was day #1 of potty training. The day started out great. Jacob got to choose which pair of big boy underwear to wear and also chose which pair winnie the pooh would wear. We had a juice party with pooh and then Pooh "told us" he had to go potty. We took him to the potty and he went, we clapped and cheered for Pooh and then proceeded to give Pooh 2 skittles for going to the potty. Jacob thought that this was great! Then it was time for Jacob to sit on the potty and here's what happened....

So, then we decided to have a popcorn party (salty snacks were recommended for potty training so that he'd be thirsty and drink more which would therefore make him have to pee more which would provide more chances for practicing ). I also told Jacob he could watch a DVD (also a recommendation so that he'd sit for longer than 3 seconds). This made potty training sound even better. So here's he is... LOL!
After many accidents, he finally went! It was so exciting and cute to see how proud of himself he was! He kept saying, "I did it!" So here he is getting his treat...

All in all, it was a pretty good day. He had about 12 accidents and 3 successes! We're going to work at it again tomorrow so hopefully it will be a good day!

Carrots and Squash

James had his first real solid foods and absolutely loved them. I honestly couldn't spoon them into his mouth fast enough. He'd start to wine between each bite and then when I'd give it to him , he'd smile and I swear he said, "mmmm" LOL! Then he proeceed to eat the entire jar! Then Jacob wanted to help...

Looks I have an eater on my hands. :)

Bath time

James is now in his "sitting up" bath seat. It's so nice because the boys entertain each other.

All clean.............
