"Dada"

Jacob is quite a "daddy's boy" these days. From the minute I get Jacob up in the morning, he says "Where's Dada?" If he's not home, it's one of two answers... Surfing or at work. Whichever one I answer to him, he says "In the och" which means ocean. :) Throughout the day, whether making a phone call or if he hears a car, Jacob asks for his dada. His latest favorite thing to do with Paul is to watch him skateboard. He yells, "Go go Dada" It's the cutest thing ever to see his little face light up when he sees Paul. Jacob's very smart because he does have the best daddy ever!

Baby #2

Well, it's official... I'm pregnant! Yay! I took a pregnancy test about 2 weeks ago and it came up negative so I was sad but thought it will happen when God wants it to happen. About a week and a half went by and I was feeling very very tired. I decided to take another test and within about 15 seconds it came up with two very apparent lines (which indicates 'pregant'). I thought, could it be true? So, I had Paul go out and buy another type of pregnancy test just to confirm the results :) and it too came up positive. So, baby #2 is on the way. He or she is predicted to enter this world on August 28th.Jacob and the new baby will be 2 1/2 years apart. Jacob doesn't get it quite yet. I told him that mommy has a baby in her tummy and he says "I want to see" while looking very closely at my stomach. :) Paul and I couldn't be happier. We're excited our family is growing and feel very blessed. So, it looks like it will indeed be a very exciting 2009!

Christmas 2008

Christmas was very busy this year but was also so much fun. We spent Christmas Eve at the Conzelman's. Jacob had a blast chasing Cookie around the house, playing with his cousins Daniel and Stever and running in and out of the TV room. We then spent Christmas morning at our house. We had fun watching Jacob open his stocking and play in his new toy car. He doesn't quite get the present opening yet. He'll see the first thing and want to play with that and not open anything else. :) We then went to Gram & Poppy's house, then down to the beach house. Jacob loved pushing his new shopping cart around and playing with all his new cars. Although it came and went so quickly, It was a blessing to be able to spend time with our families and loved ones this Christmas season. We're looking forward to an exciting 2009.

Paul & Dee Dee's

Paul (Bogart) was very busy this year putting up lots and lots of lights for Christmas. We were invited over to his house to view his masterpiece, have Christmas cookies and watch "Christmas Vacation" (of course :) Jacob loved all the lights but was especially fascinated by the huge blow up snowmen in the yard. Great job Paul!!

Lights, lights and more lights!

Last weekend we went on a trolley ride around old town Orange to look at all the Christmas lights. We found the most amazing home decorated with thousands of lights. Not only were there lights, but tons of moving parts including a train that ran all the way around the front yard. We got out to see the house close up and Jacob and Jacob stood by the fence saying "choo choo" Being able to celebrate Christmas with great friends and our kids while seeing the lights through their eyes was a memory I'll never forget!!.

"Sana"

On Friday night, we took Jacob to Irvine Park to ride the train and see santa. Jacob loved all the lights and the train ride over. While we stood in line, I noticed Jacob had lost an ugg (you'll notice in the pic below). Paul went to look for it but did not find it. It was sad and a little embarassing because it was so cold out and Jacob was walking around with only one shoe and no socks! Luckily, Jacob could care less. As we got closer to it being our turn Jacob started to stare Santa down and was clinging onto Paul a little tighter. And as you can see by the picture below, he didn't really like Santa all that much this year! ;) Once the traumatic experience was over, Santa gave the boys candy canes and they were much happier. While waiting to take the train back, the conductor came up to us with the lost ugg in hand. It was definitely a night to remember!

Christmas

It's beginnning to look a lot like Christmas around here. Jacob helped us pick out our tree last weekend. He was very busy in the tree lot picking up all the pine needles and saying "ooohh" at all the trees. Once we got the tree up and decorated at our house, I was a little nervous on how he'd do with it. I told him over and over to not touch and so far he's obeyed. He'll get close to it and say "no, no no." He loves looking at the lights on the house and says "pretty!" He can also say Santa but says it "Sana" and "snowman" which is adorable. We're working on "Merry Christmas"
