Trash!

Every Wednesday the trash man comes by and Jacob gets SOOOOO excited. The first one usually comes by around 8:00 am. Whatever Jacob is doing he immediately stops and says, "Trash... I want to see!" So, in our pajamas we venture outside to wave to our very nice trash man and a few of the neighbors who are on their way to work. They're all used to seeing Jacob waving at the trash man and me being slightly embarrassed of my fraggle appearance :) He waits for it to come by and then back around to the other side and waves to it until it turns the corner. The trash man waves and sometimes honks his horn. It's something he loves and it's adorable to me. I think we'll buy the trash man a Christmas gift this year :)

Beach house

We stayed at the beach house last weekend. We celebrated Carrie's birthday on Saturday with friends and family. Jacob had so much fun chasing and feeding the birds with his Auntie!

He also loved watching his Daddy surf out front. He'd yell from the house, "Hi Daddy"

Jacob was very entertained by all his friends including Kaden, Finley, Parker, Ella, Jordyn and Tyler.

My Favorite Zoo

We went to Zoomers Zoo last weekend. It is my and Jacob's favorite zoo. You can come directly in contact with the animals. Jacob's favorite is the area with the bunnies and guinea pigs. It's hilarious to see all the kids (& Paul) feeding and holding the animals. See the video below. LOL!

Mother's Day 2009

We had a fun Mother's day weekend starting with a cooking class at Zov's with Christy, Grammy, Shana, Mom, and Gram. Zov taught us how to make such a yummy meal. From split pea soup to a smoked turkey and gouda salad with apple vinegarette to a crusted halibut and it ended with an amazing rice pudding. My mom said it was the best meal she'd ever eaten :) Thanks for a fun lunch Shana.

On Sunday, Paul brought me Starbucks in bed. That was the best! And Jacob said (with some guidance from me) "Happy Mother's Day. I love you" I got it on video :) Then we went to Mom and Dad's for brunch.

That night, we met Mark, Shana, Matt, Nett, Daniel, Steven, Mikey and Jen at The Bluewater grill in the District. What a fun weekend!

Swim time

We went over to Sar and Chris' house to swim with the boys last weekend. They both love the water so much and were able to show us some of their moves they learned from swimming lessons. It's so funny to see the difference in personalities between Parker and Jacob while swimming. Jacob is very cautious while Parker was a little dare devil. He'd drop himself down under water to the third step and then bounce himself back up again with a huge smile on his face. He's already a little Chris!

CARS!

Jacob is so into his cars these days... from the Cars Movie, to his Cars jammies and rain boots, everything is Cars! There are 2 cars in particular that he has to have now everywhere he goes. He calls them "big and little." From the moment he wakes up, he asks for them. He also remembers exactly where he left them and has to have both of them together. Auntie gave him the big one not even realizing how much he'd absolutely love it. It's actually filled with bubble bath :) And the little one was given to him tp borrow by his neighbor friend, Jonah. Here he is asleep in the car with his 2 buddies!

Cayucos

We went up to Cayucos (which is just north of San Luis Obisbo) last weekend to celebrate Matt Brown's 30th birthday. We stayed at a house by the beach and had so much fun relaxing, walking on the beach and enjoying the cute town. Everyone went wine tasting one day. I couldn't participate but had fun eating all the yummy food and enjoying the sceneryOn our way home, Paul and I stopped in Santa Barbara and had lunch on the pier. It was a beautiful day! Happy 30th Matt and thank you for a great weekend!
