Christmas was very busy this year but was also so much fun. We spent Christmas Eve at the Conzelman's. Jacob had a blast chasing Cookie around the house, playing with his cousins Daniel and Stever and running in and out of the TV room. We then spent Christmas morning at our house. We had fun watching Jacob open his stocking and play in his new toy car. He doesn't quite get the present opening yet. He'll see the first thing and want to play with that and not open anything else. :) We then went to Gram & Poppy's house, then down to the beach house. Jacob loved pushing his new shopping cart around and playing with all his new cars. Although it came and went so quickly, It was a blessing to be able to spend time with our families and loved ones this Christmas season. We're looking forward to an exciting 2009.

Paul & Dee Dee's
Paul (Bogart) was very busy this year putting up lots and lots of lights for Christmas. We were invited over to his house to view his masterpiece, have Christmas cookies and watch "Christmas Vacation" (of course :) Jacob loved all the lights but was especially fascinated by the huge blow up snowmen in the yard. Great job Paul!!
Lights, lights and more lights!
Last weekend we went on a trolley ride around old town Orange to look at all the Christmas lights. We found the most amazing home decorated with thousands of lights. Not only were there lights, but tons of moving parts including a train that ran all the way around the front yard. We got out to see the house close up and Jacob and Jacob stood by the fence saying "choo choo" Being able to celebrate Christmas with great friends and our kids while seeing the lights through their eyes was a memory I'll never forget!!.

"Sana"
On Friday night, we took Jacob to Irvine Park to ride the train and see santa. Jacob loved all the lights and the train ride over. While we stood in line, I noticed Jacob had lost an ugg (you'll notice in the pic below). Paul went to look for it but did not find it. It was sad and a little embarassing because it was so cold out and Jacob was walking around with only one shoe and no socks! Luckily, Jacob could care less. As we got closer to it being our turn Jacob started to stare Santa down and was clinging onto Paul a little tighter. And as you can see by the picture below, he didn't really like Santa all that much this year! ;) Once the traumatic experience was over, Santa gave the boys candy canes and they were much happier. While waiting to take the train back, the conductor came up to us with the lost ugg in hand. It was definitely a night to remember!

Christmas
It's beginnning to look a lot like Christmas around here. Jacob helped us pick out our tree last weekend. He was very busy in the tree lot picking up all the pine needles and saying "ooohh" at all the trees. Once we got the tree up and decorated at our house, I was a little nervous on how he'd do with it. I told him over and over to not touch and so far he's obeyed. He'll get close to it and say "no, no no." He loves looking at the lights on the house and says "pretty!" He can also say Santa but says it "Sana" and "snowman" which is adorable. We're working on "Merry Christmas"

Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving we spent some time with the Conzelman Family at Gram & Poppy's house. The next day we spent it at the beach house with the Bogart Family. Paul and I ate a ton but I don't think Jacob touched a thing. He's a bit of a picky eater these days. The days I think that he ate well, I end of finding half of it in his high chair, on the floor, or in his cup :)

Our Little Rocker
Jacob was a little Rock Star for Halloween this year. It was only fitting since he loves music, the drums, Rockband, etc... Thanks to Paul, Jacob's hair turned out awesome. Paul had practice since this is what he looked like in High School! LOL! We had our families and Sar, Chris & Parker over for Chili, cornbread and cupcakes then headed out to Trick or Treat. With every house we came to, Jacob tried to go in while Parker was already headed to the next house :) It was so much fun watching the boys try to comprehend what was going on. It was definitely a Halloween that we will remember forever!

We went to the Pumkin Patch last night. Jacob had so much fun running around and tried to pick up every pumpkin he saw. We came home and carved our pumpkins and then Jacob played and made a mess with all the insides and seeds. We put them outside on the porch that night and the next day they were gone! All that was left behind was one of the pumpkin tops. How sad! :( Well, at least Jacob will be happy when we carve new ones.

BFF
Parker and Jacob have been friends since birth :). They are only 6 weeks apart. It's been so much fun to see them grow, learn and play together. When Jacob sees Parker, he smiles and dances and has so much to say to his little friend. And Jacob loves his *Auntie Sar* He always wants her to hold him, he sits on her lap all the time and lights up when he hears that we're going to see Sarah and Parker. The boys favorite thing to do together lately is running down hills or any sort of incline. It's adorable.

Long time Friends
Sarah, Natalie, Kirsten and I got together the other night to celebrate Natalie and Sarah's birthdays. Natalie and I have known each other since Kindergarden and Sarah and Kirsten since Elementary school. The four of us met up in 7th grade and have been friends ever since. The four of us have been through so much together and it seems like just yesterday we were having sleepovers at Sarah's house, eating ruffles and ranch and talking to boys outside her window. :) Our friendships have grown immensely over the years and I am very thankful to have these great girls in my life!

Cousins
Daniel and Steven came over Friday night for a sleepover. Jacob always has the best time with them. He calls them both "Dee"... kind of a combo between their names :) We can already tell how much Jacob looks up to and wants to be like his older cousins. The boys kept us laughing the whole time. Steven tried to convince us that they didn't have to brush their teeth at night and that their bedtime on the weekends was 12:00pm, while Daniel amazed us how with how well he can rock the drums on Rock Band.

Hot, hot, hot!
It's been a HOT october so far but Jacob doesn't mind because he LOVES LOVES LOVES the water. From two showers a day, to the tub, to playing with the hose (or "hoo" as Jacob calls it), to brushing his teeth while putting his feet in the sink... if it involves water, Jacob's into it. Oh, and he finally likes swim lessons. It only took him 5 months! LOL! But he finally hit a turning point and we're very proud of him.
